The general administrative functions of the Town are carried out by the Town Manager, Town Attorney, Town Engineer, and Town Clerk/Human Resources Officer.

The Town Manager serves as the chief executive officer for the Town under the Council-Manager form of government and serves at the pleasure of the Board of Aldermen. The Manager is responsible for the operation of all Town departments and for the appointment of all employees, with the exception of the Town Attorney who is appointed by the Board of Aldermen.
As Budget Officer, the Town Manager prepares and submits a Recommended Annual Budget to the Board of Aldermen for their consideration each year. In addition, the Manager recommends policies and programs to the Board of Aldermen throughout the year to address community needs.

The Town Attorney provides legal review and advice for the Board of Aldermen, Town Departments, and Town Boards and Commissions. He performs legal services for the Board of Aldermen and Town Departments. He serves as the legal counsel for the Town in legal matters. He provides interpretation of the Town Code, policies and procedures for the Board of Aldermen, Town departments, Town Boards and Commissions, and citizens.
Town Engineer

The Town Engineer provides technical support to the staff of the Public Works, Planning, and Utility Department, as well as to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. Major areas of support include the development and implementation of subdivision development standards and the maintenance and construction of Town utilities.

The Town Clerk is responsible for the safe-keeping of official Town documents and the Town seal; preparation of agenda materials; taking minutes and doing follow-up on Board actions; assuring that legal requirements for Board actions are followed and records are kept accordingly; and performing administrative support tasks for the Town Board and Town Manager.
Persons who desire to appear before the Board of Aldermen must complete an application of Request to Appear. The application must be received by the Town Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. the first Monday of the month the speaker desires to appear. The Board of Aldermen formal meetings is held the second Monday of every month at 7:00 p.m. in the Assembly Room located on the first floor of the Town Hall Building. Applications are available on the website.
Persons who desire to serve on any one of the many Boards and Commissions may obtain an application from the Town Clerk. Applications are available on the Town website.
Work in human resources involves administering recruitment and selection programs, benefits, personnel polices, compensation, training, and personnel records.
The Town Clerk also serves as Public Information Officer and coordinates the CDBG and HOME housing programs.
