The Town of Winterville has 7 boards and commissions in which interested citizens can participate. To apply for vacancies, citizens need to complete an application and send it to the Office of the Town Clerk. Citizens may appear before the Board of Aldermen at any regular meeting. Meetings are held on the 2nd Monday at 7:00 p.m. Interested citizens need to complete a Request to Appear form and send it to the Office of the Town Clerk. The deadline for submission of the form is noon on the 1st Monday of each month.
As requested, a citizen's item of business will be placed on the agenda for presentation to the Winterville Town Board of Aldermen. When making a presentation, citizen's are requested to follow the procedures outlined below in order to ensure that business can proceed in an orderly and timely manner:
When recognized by the Mayor, approach the speaker podium and state your name, address, the organization you represent, and other relevant personal information.
- If you have materials for distribution to the Board members, present them to the Town Clerk.
- You may be limited to five minutes to make your presentation.
- Organizations shall appoint one and no more than two individuals to speak on their behalf.
- When citizens have completed their presentation, they should return to their seat. The board will take your presentation and comments into full consideration; however, specific action may or may not be taken at this time.
No business solicitation will be allowed by members of the general public at any Town meeting.
By following these procedures, all items of business to be considered by the Board can be given the attention and consideration they deserve and the meeting will proceed in an organized and timely manner. Your input, comments, and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank You.
