The Town of Winterville is a full-service municipality located just south of Greenville in the central coastal plain of North Carolina. In 1996, Money Magazine rated Winterville 23 rd among the top 50 boom towns in America. The population of the Town has grown by over 54% during the past two years. The current population of 6,500 is expected to continue growing by 1,200 new residents each year. The Town of Winterville is proud to have become the second largest municipality in Pitt County.

Winterville is a community built on small town values. Its volunteer spirit is alive and active as evidenced by the Town’s annual Watermelon Festival celebrated in late August each year. The Town staff of 49 employees makes every effort to provide the highest quality and most affordable services possible and to offer excellent customer service to all of its residents. Town services include water, sewer, and electric utility services, police, fire, solid waste management, street maintenance, storm water management, parks and recreation, and planning and land use regulation.
