Town Officials

Winterville has operated under the Council – Manager form of government since 1999.  The legislative body of the government of the Town of Winterville is comprised of a Mayor and a five (5) member Board of Aldermen. The Mayor and Aldermen are elected at-large by the citizens and serve four-year terms.  Elections are held every two (2) years, and the terms of office are staggered.

The Mayor is the presiding officer for the Board, but does not vote unless the vote is tied.  The Board of Aldermen sets policies regarding the operations of the Town.  In the absence or disability of the Mayor, the Mayor Pro Tem performs the Mayoral duties.  The Board determines the services to be provided by the Town government. 

The Board of Aldermen meets in regular session on the 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00 p.m.   These meetings are held in the Assembly Room at the Winterville Town Hall, located at 2571 Railroad Street in downtown Winterville.
