The Town of Winterville has been awarded a $10,000 “mini grant” for improving street safety for youth (and the rest of our community!). Temporary changes are coming to three intersections along Cooper St, Main St, Church St, and Academy St! In early May 2024, with help from community members like you, the Town of Winterville will install low-cost, temporary curb extensions and high visibility crosswalks at three intersections that aim to make these streets safer to walk, bike, and drive on. The goal of our project is to test out intersection changes to make walking, biking, and rolling to schools and parks easier, safer, and more enjoyable for everyone. Register for a community workday!
