Tai Chi

Tai Chi is meant to calm the mind and strengthen the body while learning and enjoying the exercise. Tai Chi teaches personal growth and development, breathing and fluid motion exercises, focusing of the mind, and much more. Program is for people of all fitness levels and advances in your time, at your pace.

Instructor: Jeffery Gay

Location: Winterville Operations Center Training Room, 2936 Church Street

Registration: Register in person at the Winterville Operations Center or online beginning March 14th.

Session Information: Total of 8 classes per session. Classes every Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Please see program catalog in registration system for dates.

Cost: $30 per participant. Must register for entire session, no drop-in.


Golden-Age Senior Program

Description: Golden-Age Senior Drop-In program is a program designed for seniors (ages 55+) to “drop-in”, to participate in their favorite games and activities. Recreation staff will provide instructions of games/activities accordingly that may rotate from “free-play” or specialized days (Bingo Day, Puzzle Day, Card Day, etc.). Drinks (water and coffee) will be provided on a daily basis, while refreshments will be designated to specific days.

Price: None! **Unless noted otherwise for specialized days (aerobics, zumba, jewelry making)

When: Every 2nd and 4th Thursday of every month from 1:30pm-3:30pm

Where: Winterville Operations Center Training Room, 2936 Church St. in Winterville.

Karate

Description: Sabal Dojo is the North Carolina branch of Goshukan Ryu Okinawan Karate. The program teaches classical karate, self-defense, kobudo (traditional weapons of Okinawan, Japan), and promote holistic living in our practice. Our mission is to pass on our lineage, develop deeper understandings of the curriculum, and develop more lifelong practitioners in the next generations. Program is designed for people of all skill levels.

Session Information: Total of 5 weeks of classes. Classes every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Session Dates: May 25th - June 29th

Time: 6:30 pm – 7:30 pm

Cost: $40 per participant. Must register for entire session, no drop-in.
