Due to mechanical breakdowns of equipment and the amount of debris generated by Hurricane Isaias the regularly scheduled construction debris routes scheduled for Monday August 10 and Tuesday August 11 will be delayed by several days. The routes should be completed by the end of business on Friday August 14. Please contact the Public Works Department at (252) 215-2428 with any questions.
Also, the Town’s Public Works Department staff continues to make its way through Town picking up storm debris. Unfortunately, the three knuckleboom trucks used to perform this work have all experienced a breakdown and are currently being repaired. Staff is continuing to pick up items with other available equipment (backhoe, dump truck, pitch forks and trailers) and hope to return the knuckleboom trucks to work soon. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding during this storm recovery period.
