Winterville’s Water Supply

Annual Conversion to Free Chlorine

The Town of Winterville will begin our annual conversion to free chlorine on Monday, June 15, 2026 for a period of six weeks. Hydrant flushing will begin mid-week to assist the conversion process in the distribution system. The Town will return to chloramines on Monday, July 27,2026.

The Town of Winterville provides water to over 4,000 households and businesses with over 58 miles of water main throughout our service area.  The Town utilizes two (2) wells that draw water from the Black Creek Aquifer.  Due to state mandated reductions on groundwater withdrawal the Town also purchases water from Greenville Utilities in order to meet the growing demand for water in our community.
