Old Tar Road (SR-1700 both directions south of Winterville) will be closed just north of Laurie Ellis Road to replace a failing culvert on Tuesday, April 21, 2026, at 8:00 am to Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 5:00 pm. The detour route will be posted by NCDOT: Old Tar Road to Cooper Street to Ange Street to Laurie Ellis Road to Old Tar Road.
